Quick Install (Developer Mode)

Vibe Inspect is an open-source Chromium extension adhering to the modern Manifest V3 standard.

1. Download or Clone the Repository

Clone the upstream repository directly using git:

git clone https://github.com/Sacilave/vibe-inspect.git

Alternatively, download the latest source code archive:

• Download Source ZIP
• Unzip the archive to a permanent local folder (e.g. d:/tools/vibe-inspect).

2. Open Extension Management

Open your Chromium-based browser and navigate to the extension management page:

Arc	arc://extensions/

3. Enable Developer Mode

Toggle the Developer mode switch in the top-right corner of the page.

4. Load Unpacked Extension

1. Click the Load unpacked button in the top-left toolbar.
2. Select the vibe-inspect root directory (the folder containing manifest.json).
3. You will immediately see the Vibe Inspect badge in your browser extension toolbar!

Pin for Quick Access

Click the puzzle piece icon in your browser toolbar and pin Vibe Inspect so you can view whitelist status and switch prompt formats anytime.

Verifying the Installation

1. Start any local frontend project (e.g. http://localhost:3000 or http://localhost:5173).
2. Press Ctrl + Shift + X (macOS: Cmd + Shift + X).
3. The Vibe Inspect box-model HUD will activate instantly. Move your mouse over any element to see the four-layer geometry overlay.
